This month and next month I’m visting my grandma in DuBois, PA in America. I went swiming in the lake and played REALLY FUN GAMES.
Today I went to Sea World with my cousin Jadyn. It was fun! We went to see two shows. We went to the Shamu and the Dolphin shows.
We also got to touch a European Legless Lizard. We ran in water fountains and we went on a ride called Journey To Atlantis. It was a SUPER FUN water ride. At the end of the day, we got two polar bear key chains and my brother got a penguin key chain.
This post includes Jadyn S. as my guest blogger!
Hello, my name is Manika. I am in an air plane. I am going to see Los Angeles. I am having breakfast. We’re landing soon. I’m in seat 30F. Avik’s in 30G. My mom is in 30E. I don’t mean to brag but this is delicious food. My dad is not coming. He has to work.
Sometimes you can have big travels close to home. Today I had to take a very long walk to find a taxi because there was like one billion people at the Kerry Center. The Kerry Center is in Pudong, Shanghai. It has lots of restaurants and stores. I had my favorite pesto pasta there. I was full and ready to go home. It was freezing outside. I was worried we would get the flu. We had to walk though, because the taxi stand was full.
We walked down a long busy road in the bicycle lane. Lots of construction workers were eating dinner on the sidewalk. They left a lot of trash on the ground.
That wasn’t a good idea because it was the bad for the environment and Shanghai already has lots of pollution. We also saw people selling food on carts and my mom said she wanted a pancake. I did not want anything. I was too full and it looked not so yummy.
Finally we found a taxi. When we got home, I was so happy.
The World Atlas also says some interesting things about Washington D.C. With 132 rooms and the 35 bathrooms, the White House is home to the US President. This historic building also serves as the office for the President and his staff. They change the President every four years, sometimes eight years.
My grandma lives near the President. I sometimes visit her. We can go to the White House together this summer.
This summer, my mom is taking me and my brother around the world. We are going to go from Shanghai to Los Angeles, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., New York, London, and Paris.
Yesterday, I got a great idea to use my new World Atlas to help me get ready. I wanted to learn about London. The Atlas says London is in the UK. The UK is in Europe. At 11am each day, I can join a crowd in front of Buckingham Palace to see the guards change.
The Palace has 775 rooms and 240 bedrooms. The Queen of England lives there. I wish I could meet her!
