The Big Walk

Sometimes you can have big travels close to home. Today I had to take a very long walk to find a taxi because there was like one billion people at the Kerry Center. The Kerry Center is in Pudong, Shanghai. It has lots of restaurants and stores. I had my favorite pesto pasta there. I was full and ready to go home. It was freezing outside. I was worried we would get the flu. We had to walk though, because the taxi stand was full.

We walked down a long busy road in the bicycle lane. Lots of construction workers were eating dinner on the sidewalk. They left a lot of trash on the ground.

That wasn’t a good idea because it was the bad for the environment and Shanghai already has lots of pollution. We also saw people selling food on carts and my mom said she wanted a pancake. I did not want anything. I was too full and it looked not so yummy.

Finally we found a taxi. When we got home, I was so happy.

  1. Hi Manika. Nice story. You are right; leaving trash on the sidewalk is not a good idea. The people probably did not know or forgot. If someone had told them nicely how bad it is, they probably would not do it. We have to find ways to let people know or remind them.
